Daily events
Free Orientation Tours
Whistler Blackcomb offers a free orientation tour of each mountain. With so much terrain, you can easily get lost! The guides take you on blue runs. This means your level of boarding/skiing needs to be intermediate or above.
The length of the tour is about 1.5-2 hours. Although, it does depend on your guide, whether they would like to go longer. If you need to leave the group early, just let your guide know at the start of the tour.

Free Avalanche Awareness Tours
Departing at 8.45am from the Blackcomb Day Lodge (base of Blackcomb), you get a whole day on the mountain. The tour goes all day and covers terrain evaluation, rescue techniques and avalanche safety equipment.
Registration is required on 604.938.7759 or pop into Guest Relations at the Blackcomb Daylodge. A $10 cash refundable deposit will be taken when you sign up.
Fresh Tracks
If you want to be the first one up on the mountain, then this is for you. Allowing you to upload at 7.30am, you get a buffet breakfast at the Roundhouse and fresh tracks down to the Emerald Express or Big Red Express chairlifts. For more information, click here.
Pontiac Race Centre
Want to know how fast you ski or snowboard? Then head to Whistler Mountain, where you will find the Pontiac Race Centre. Located under the Emerald Chair, the course is set on an intermediate slope. Its free and fun. Good luck!
Fire and Ice show Every Sunday at 6.30pm at the base of the Village gondola's you can check out the Jump of Fire. This is performed by the Ski & Snowboard School Big Air Team. Fireworks and Fire Spinning, along with ski jumpers and snowboarding tricks, make this worth a look and see to get you out and about. There are door prizes and product sampling aswell. Welcome Night If you're new in town and want to know what's on for the time that you are here, this could be the place to drop into. Every Sunday, between 5-7pm at the Maurice Young Millennium Place, you will enjoy a presentation, refreshments and prizes. For more info call 604.938.3434. There is a lot to see and do here in Whistler this month. Whistler Arts Festival - February 1-28th The Whistler Arts Festival is running throughout the month of February. Its a celebration of arts and cultures with performances, film, art exhibitions, outdoor performances and literary arts. You can win a free Heliskiing trip by voting for your favourite photograph at the Photo Exhibition & Competition held at Millennium Place (across from the Brewhouse House). Check out the deals that Whistler Blackcomb have on offer. Kokanee Valley Race Series: Super G - February 17th This event is open to amateurs and pro's on skis, telemarks and boards. Racing on Blackcomb starting at 11am for cash and prizes. An entry fee of $20 is required and restricted to people 19 yrs and up. Pre-registration is recommended, although you can sign up before 10am at the Rendezvous on Blackcomb. For more info, pop in a call to 604.932.3434. 24 hours in the Life of Whistler - February 17th Don't be too startled if you are approached to have your pic taken today. A bunch of photographers are on a mission to 'capture' Whistler in 24 hours. Say "Cheese". Queen of the Rail - February 19th Go girls! This is a women's only event and its your turn to show the boys how its done. Its the same deal with the King of the Rail. If you're not familiar with the comp, check out the details for Queen of the Rail. The comp is during Night Moves on Blackcomb between 6-7.30pm. The participants are the judges. You can register from 4.30pm in the Blackcomb Lodge. Helmets are compulsory. To register or grab some more info buzz 604.943.3434. Master's Recreational Race Series - February 20th & March 27th Slalom on Whistler takes place down Upper Dave Murray. Open to pro's and recreational racers, the series begins at 10.30am. Register at the Dave Murray Video Building at the top of Garbanzo chair lift between 8-10am. Alternatively, drop into Blackcomb guest relations the day before. The event will set you back $20. Sierra Wireless Whistler Cup - April 1-3
An international Juvenile Ski Race for girls and boys aged 11-14 years. Over 350 athletes from 20 countries compete in this event. Its the 13th year the Whistler Cup. With the best athletes from around the world competing, this would be one event not to miss.
Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival - April 8-17
Another big event hitting Whistler this season. With best skiers and snowboarders in town, it will be a festival not to miss.
