Terrain Parks and Pipes on Whistler Blackcomb
If you like pushing your snowboarding to the limits then Whistler Blackcomb terrain parks and pipes have all the answers for you. The parks and pipes on Whistler mountain will cater for any level of snowboarder and have you progressing beyond your own belief in no time. The parks and pipes on Blackcomb mountain include the Big Easy Terrain Garden, Nintendo Terrain Park, Nintendo Highest Level Park and the Superpipe. Whistler mountain features the Chipmunk park which has two runs, one for beginners and the other for intermediate park riders and the Whistler Halfpipe Both Whistler and Blackcomb are well groomed parks and kept in great condition for freestyle riding. The maintenance staff do a great job. The mountain also employs specific staff members for maintaining and monitoring the terrain parks making sure it is always safe and fun. These staff wear the blue and grey jackets with Parks written across the lower back. Please note these staff are also very helpful in improving your skills should you ask them, most times they will help. If you have never grinded a rail or busted into the air off a kicker but have always wanted to then head to the beginner parks and get started. These parks have been set up with learners in mind offering rails that are wide and close to the ground to minimise the pain factor when and if you fall. This can be the worst situation in freestyle boarding when you have a nasty stack and lose your confidence to hit the rails and jumps again. Take it easy on these beginner parks to begin with and progress naturally gaining confidence to hit bigger and better things. Head to the beginners side of the Chipmunk Park on Whistler or the Big Easy Terrain Garden located on Blackcomb. Start on the wide boxes and work your way up through the rails. Intermediate, Advanced and Experts Never fear (although to be at this ability you have no fear anyway) Whistler has every level of riding covered. Whether you are looking for big kickers, long bent rails or a massive superpipe it is all here. Test your abilities in the intermediate Chipmunk Terrain Park, or the park above Emerald lift. Or for those who want to go to the extreme head to Blackcomb on the Nintendo terrain park, the highest level terrain park or the 15 foot walls of the superpipe. IMPORTANT! Highest level park users will need to get a separate pass before entering the expert park. This is checked prior to entry most times. It is also mandatory to wear a helmet. The photo ID pass is available for an extra once off fee of $15 from Guest Relations and is valid for the entire season.
